In the fall, we will be presenting Noises Off, a play written by Michael Frayn. This farce follows a traveling regional theater and their production of Nothing On, a fictional farce focused on doors and sardines. From love pentagons to an act showing the play from “backstage”, this play will keep you cracking up from curtain up to curtain down.
Starting in October, the Strawberry Hill Improv Players (SHIP) will put on several performances every couple months in our small auditorium. These shows never fail to make the crowd laugh non-stop, starring a variety of performers in all grades.
A Knight Of Cabaret, our biggest club fundraiser of the year will be at the end of December. Featuring current students, alumni, and local talent, this performance is one of the most entertaining. It’s definitely one not to miss.
Then in January, the senior players will have the unique opportunity to try directing in our 20th annual production of Senior Scenes. This show gives underclassman actors a chance to star and seniors a chance to direct.
In March, we will be taking a play to the Connecticut Drama Association’s annual acting festival to compete against several other Connecticut high school drama clubs. This year, we will be performing Leaves, an Irish drama about a family of 5 dealing with mental health. It will be student directed by our very own Cara Grasso.
Finishing another year off strong, our spring musical will be The Addams Family. This hilarious show features all your favorite kooky characters from the old comic strip, but this time little Wednesday Addams is all grown up, and in love with a “normal” boy from Ohio. What happens when the Ohio-ans get trapped in the creepy Addams household? Anything but the expected.
Thank you! We can’t wait to see you there!
